Maleta Estate Winery

Maleta Estate Winery is a premium winery, with vineyards enjoying a favourable mesoclimate. Its location and heritage make it desirable as it sits adjacent to what was once the Sunnieholme Winery, founded in 1918, and on what was probably the site of Niagara’s first commercial vineyard, developed in the mid-1800s.
Maleta specializes in premium VQA Ontario wines such as its gold award-winning icewine, its flagship Meritage, a Bordeaux-style, oak-aged red wine produced from high-quality Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot grapes grown at the property. Winemaker and winemaking author Daniel Pambianchi focuses on icewine, full-bodied reds, Riesling, and sparkling wine with Maleta’s 2007 Old Vines Dry Sparking Wine winning a 2010 Cuvée Gold. The Maleta product line includes the popular, humorously labeled Grape Brain wines, the more upscale View brand, as well as the premium Meritage label.
