Dandor Estate Winery

"Inspired by Moldova’s 5,000-year winemaking legacy and captivated by the unique climate of Niagara-on-the-Lake, our family saw a place where world-class premium grape varieties could flourish. A century of this farm’s history led us here. Patience, persistence and passion brought our vision to life. Each bottle is a promise of authenticity, experience and craftsmanship."

Meet Dandor Estate Winery

Dandor Estate Winery is Niagara-on-the-Lake’s newest estate winery, founded by Alexei and Lilia Bodistean. Their roots trace back to Moldova, home to the world’s largest and most storied wine cellars, where generations of family carefully nurtured vineyards and transformed grapes into wine as an expression of culture, tradition, and pride.

After moving to Canada, the Bodisteans were naturally drawn to Niagara-on-the-Lake for its beauty, terroir, and vibrant wine culture — a landscape that felt deeply familiar, echoing Moldova’s vineyards. In 2022, following years of winemaking at home and within their Toronto community, they embarked on a new chapter with the purchase of a century-old, 25-acre farm in Niagara-on-the-Lake.

Named after their sons, Daniel and Dorin, Dandor Estate Winery represents the culmination of a lifelong journey and a legacy built on patience, passion, and craftsmanship — rooted in Old World heritage and shaped by Niagara’s terroir.

The winery’s single-vineyard, VQA estate-bottled wines reflect time-honoured traditions passed down through owner Alexei Bodistean, brought to life by winemaker Adam Kern using modern winemaking techniques. Together, their wines tell a story of connection — between generations, continents, and cultures — always with a glass raised to family, heritage, and new beginnings.
